SUMMARY:A Soviet design for life: the Catherine Cooke collection at the UL
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday 4 July - Saturday 6 April 2013
Cambridge University Library
Free admission

The academic and architect Catherine Cooke created a remarkable collection of examples of Russian design and architecture covering the whole twentieth century. She left this collection to the University Library and we are delighted to be able to share it with the public for the first time. Arranged thematically around subjects such as Sport, Education, Fantasy and Consumption the display includes examples of stunning large-format posters alongside day-to-day objects such as soup packets, ration tickets and children's books.

The exhibition is free and does not need to be booked. Please note that the UL is closed on the following days:
    27 August (bank holiday)
    10-15 September (library inspection)
    23 December-1 January 2013 (Christmas closure)
    29 March-1 April (Easter 2013)
Further information is available on the UL website, the What's On website and the University's research news article.
