Cambridge Music in Bordeaux: A festival of great music and fine wine

'I have been as close as I am ever likely to get to having been on visiting terms with the aristocratic musical patrons of the past... for immediacy and intimacy this has to be as good as musical holidaymaking can possibly get’ The Times

Hot on the heels of a recording with Sir Roger Norrington and Wagner’s Parsifal with Sir Mark Elder, the Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra will take centre stage at the Orpheus and Bacchus Music Festival
on the beautiful Domaine le Faure estate near Bordeaux from 30 June-6 July 2012

Guests are invited to join these elite Cambridge instrumentalists for a week of outstanding music, fine wines, and cultural discovery.  Highlights will include daily concerts and recitals, featuring Brahms’ Violin Concerto and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No.4 ‘Italian’, trips to leading vineyards such as Château Haut Brion and Château Palmer, and the chance to explore the beautiful surroundings, both at Domaine le Faure and the further afield.

Please contact Ian Christians at ian@orpheusandbacchus.com or on 07808 727735, or visit www.orpheusandbacchus.com/music/festivals.html for further information and to book.
