A return trip between Grosmont and Pickering in the luxurious Great Western Observation Carriage on the North York Moors Heritage Railway was organised for members of the Society. This provided the opportunity to enjoy the historic and nostalgic ambience of steam travel from a bygone age. The views from the train as it journeys through Newton Dale in the North York Moors are magnificent and good conversation together with an excellent buffet lunch was enjoyed by all participants. The work of pulling the train was carried out by an 0-6-2 Gresley tank engine, the only survivor of its class, and a delight to see in running order.
